People walking into the centre of four of the UK’s biggest cities this morning might have wondered if they were still asleep and dreaming.
Thousands of bright orange piggy banks have been meticulously placed in Cardiff, London, Manchester and Edinburgh – and the whole idea originated in Gloucester.
The little piggies are the brainwave of insurance company Ecclesiastical, based in Brunswick Road, and mark the beginning of its Movement of Good awards which will see it hand over £1million to charities.
Opening today, members of the public can nominate a cause close to their hearts for a potential £1,000 award.
