Rapid increase in mobility as Brits eager to return to the office

PSMIND PREDICTS

PSMIND, Posterscope’s AI tool, analyses multiple data sources to predict audience mobility trends  as we move out of lockdown.

When all restrictions are expected to lift on the 21st June, mobility is predicted to be up to 105%.

(PSMIND data, figures are based on a pre-lockdown baseline in January 2020 of 100)

LOCKDOWN WEARY BRITS EAGER TO RETURN TO THE OFFICE

In a recent survey, 71% of respondents said that the vaccine rollout made them feel more confident about returning to work, compared to 50% in November (Aviva- Employee Back to Work Index).

Whilst many companies plan to adopt a flexible working approach, 63% miss the office environment, are looking forward to returning to the office and plan to commute again, with 8 in 10 expecting to travel into their place of work at least 3 times a week (JCDecaux Sentiment Tracker).

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ADVERTISERS

Rail, bus and Underground formats will be an important consideration for brands looking to reach the commuting audience this summer as they move out of their local environment and travel back to work, dining and retail hubs, and events across the country.

Once all restrictions are lifted on the 21st June, in less than a month’s time, we anticipate a steady return to offices. Around this time rail audiences are predicted to be around 60% of pre-pandemic levels, with this figure continuing to rise as the majority of people who used public transport before Covid-19 (two thirds) will continue to do so post-pandemic (JCDecaux Audience Forecasts/ Sentiment Tracker).
